COPL researchers have access to arguably the most impressive facilities to be found on a university campus anywhere in Canada. Through research collaborations, industrial partners can benefit from several of these facilities.
Here is a list of the major research equipment available at the COPL beginning with an overview of the infrastructure located on the campus of Université Laval.
The POP (Pavilion of Optics and Photonics)
The POP is the only infrastructure of its kind in Canada. It features 5,000 m2 of class 100,000 clean-room laboratory space including 220 m2 of class 10,000, 1,000 and 100 labs devoted to micro- and nano-fabrication. The POP houses some 100 labs, 20% of which are shared. The building was designed for maximum control over dust, vibration, temperature and humidity.
