STUDYING AT ÉCOLE DE TECHNOLOGIE SUPÉRIEURE

Since its creation in 1974, the École de technologie supérieure has maintained close ties with industry.  Through partnerships with businesses of all sizes, ETS is able to offer graduate programs and a research environment adapted to industry needs. Programs are designed in collaboration with industry experts and a sizeable proportion of master’s and PhD projects are carried out collaboratively with partners. ÉTS is also geared toward students wishing to pursue a career path in research and development and to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in science and technology. Professionals in science and engineering who would like to gain a deeper understanding of their field of expertise will also find a program to suit their needs at ÉTS.

Moreover, 75% of the research activities conducted at ÉTS involve industry participants.

The COPL has four members at ÉTS: Professors Christine Tremblay, Sylvain Cloutier, Bora Ung and François Blanchard. Prof. Tremblay's research interests focus on filterless optical networking, optical communication system and network technologies, optical fiber testing & monitoring and PON monitoring. Prof. Cloutier holds a Canada Research Chair on Hybrid Optoelectronic Materials and Components. Prof. Ung is an expert in specialty optical fibres and fibre components. Prof. Blanchard's interests are in spectroscopy.
