Student Training

Located in the heart of Quebec’s largest city, the Université du Québec à Montréal is an academic and research institution numbering over 1100 professors spread out over six faculties and one school. The Faculty of Science offers programs that prepare students for the job market. These programs feature laboratory sessions, on-site training as well as internships. Smaller class size ensures a more personalized approach to higher education in fields that are focussed on real-world challenges and current scientific issues.

Michaël Ménard, professor in the Department of computer science, is the COPL member at UQÀM. His research interests are the development of integrated optical components particularly for telecommunication applications. At UQÀM, he is a member of Cofamic (the research centre on the design and fabrication of microsystems) and of NanoQAM (a research group on nanomaterials and energy).
